Buying a Unit

Private sellers, used units, out-of-province purchases, trade-ins, liens, and buying more than one.

Private Sales & Used Units

Yes. Many ATVs, motorcycles, boats, RVs and other recreational vehicles sold privately can be financed. Canada Powersports Financing can help set up the financing and arrange payment directly with the seller.

Yes. Used ATVs, motorcycles, side-by-sides, snowmobiles, boats, RVs and other recreational units can be financed. The age, condition, value and purchase price of the unit may affect the financing options available.

Many different years, makes and models can be financed, but there may be limits for some older or lower-value units. If you’ve found something you’re interested in, we can review the details and let you know what options may be available.

Where You Can Buy

Yes. When you finance through Canada Powersports Financing, you’re not tied to a specific dealership. You can compare dealers and choose the unit and seller that work best for you.

Yes, financing a unit in another province may be possible. Out-of-province purchases can involve extra steps for registration, taxes, transportation and transferring ownership, but you are not limited to shopping only in your home province.

Yes. Canada Powersports Financing works with customers across Canada to finance powersports, marine, RV and other recreational vehicles, for both dealership and private-sale purchases.

Trade-Ins & Liens

Yes. When you trade in a unit with an existing loan, the remaining loan balance is compared to the trade-in value. If you owe less than the unit is worth, you have positive equity. If you owe more than it is worth, the difference is considered negative equity.

A lien means there is still money owed on a vehicle or recreational unit. When a unit is financed, the lender can register a lien and keep it in place until the loan is fully paid off.

You can still buy the unit, but the existing loan needs to be paid out correctly. Canada Powersports Financing can help coordinate the payout so the lien is handled properly as part of completing the sale.

Before You Start Shopping

Getting pre-approved can make shopping much easier. It gives you a clear budget to work with and lets you compare dealership and private-sale options without guessing what you might qualify for.

Yes, in some cases you may be able to finance more than one unit. This could include two ATVs, a pair of snowmobiles, or a boat and trailer, depending on the total purchase amount and your approval.
