Financing Process

Application to funding, what happens at each step, which documents come up, and how dealers and private sellers get paid.

How Powersports Financing Works

Powersports financing allows you to buy an ATV, motorcycle, boat, RV or other recreational vehicle without paying the full amount upfront. Instead, you borrow the amount you need and repay it over time through scheduled payments on an agreed term.

With Canada Powersports Financing, you start by completing a single application. We review your information, help you explore available financing options and then work with you and the dealer or private seller to complete your purchase.

After You Submit Your Application

After you submit your application, we review your information and begin assessing the financing options that may fit your situation. If we need anything else to move forward, someone from Canada Powersports Financing will contact you directly.

Many applications receive a decision the same day. Some take longer if additional details or documents are required. Providing complete and accurate information upfront can help keep the approval process moving efficiently.

Information & Documents You Will Need

To apply, you’ll be asked for basic personal details, your employment and income information, your housing situation and your current financial obligations. You can also let us know what type of recreational vehicle you’re looking to buy.

Required documents vary by application. You may be asked to provide identification, proof of income, bank statements, tax documents or employment details. If anything else is needed, we’ll let you know and guide you through it.

There isn’t a specific income amount required for approval. Lenders look at whether your income can reasonably support the new payment along with your existing monthly obligations.

From Approval to Funding

After you’re approved, the next step is to confirm the recreational vehicle you want to purchase. If you’ve already chosen one, we can proceed with the purchase details, complete the paperwork and arrange funding.

Pre-approval gives you an early indication of the financing you may qualify for before you finalize your purchase. Final approval also factors in the exact unit, the purchase price and any remaining lender requirements.

How Dealers & Private Sellers Get Paid

Once your financing is in place and the paperwork is complete, payment is arranged directly with the dealership. Canada Powersports Financing coordinates the funding as part of finalizing your purchase.

For an approved private sale, we arrange payment directly with the seller after all required paperwork is completed. We coordinate the steps with both you and the seller so the process is clear, secure and everyone knows what to expect.

For a private sale, we review the unit and purchase details before any funds are released. This may include confirming the VIN or identification number, ownership information, seller details and purchase price to help ensure the information is accurate and the transaction is legitimate.
